you probably meant to hit the classifieds with this.

I'd be interested in the details on the conversion.
3 way? 2 way? or dragging a loooong extension cord

I'm using a Amana 2.7 cu ft house current dorm type fridge. Single door which is more efficient than two btw. Very low amp draw .7amp I think. I'm putting one 75watt solar panel on the roof and using a charge controller and a inverter that's 1200watt with peak to 2400 watts and one house battery from Walmart.
I don't do long camping trips, just over night and a lot of day trips. The beauty of normal compressor fridges is the low cost..($88 from Kmart) and gets cold very fast (not 24hrs) so you can use it on a whim with short notice. Not so finicky about being level either.
I've done this on my last van and worked great. Enough to run power tools even and my microwave if I started the van while heating. My last van had two 75watt panels so i'm only using one this time, so well see if it performs as well. Got them off a garage sale for $150 for three panels.
