The Oregon coast is wonderful, but don't forget to go inland a bit. There's Crater Lake, for sure, but don't miss Hwy 126 East up to the McKenzie River area. Wonderful backpacking, RVing and boondocking, hiking. Stop at the Vida Cafe for some absolutely delicious home made pie. In the Spring, the gardens at Belknap Hot Springs are beautiful and of course you can swim in the pool for a small fee.

If you're into biking, the McKenzie area has great trails, but the Oakridge area on Hwy. 58 is fast becoming the bike capitol of Oregon. They also have one of the few authenic English brew pubs in Oregon.

And no, I don't get paid for this. I just love where I live and want others to enjoy it also.

Hi all,
I added 2010 to the subject line as an update to bring the thread into 2010.
I see some folks still updating it anyway, with last year's date, so that's good.
So far for us, we planned to try the Keys for Xmas.
Didn't happen, too much going on at home, too close to Xmas (duh?).
Our next possible was Florida next Sunday to see the Endeavour launch.
Not looking good, as of this morning, as we now have some meetings scheduled
which we can't avoid or postpone. They would probably delay our departure to
the point where we'd have to race down there late Thursday or early Friday,
and that could make the weather an issue this time of year.
We drove into a snowstorm last year at the beginning of March, so we're
a bit wary of winter departures.
Our only other plan was to try and get to FL for some Spring Training baseball again this year.
Only time will tell if that one will happen.

Ok...I'll start. We have plans to meet up with a group of R-Pod TT's owners (we used to own one prior to buying the RT) in Ft. Boonesborough State Park KY, and visit the Mammoth Cave Nat'l. Park. Then in September we'll be taking a trip to Montana and Yellowstone Nat'l Park. In between that time I'm sure we'll be taking some day trips, and maybe a trip to upper Michigan and upper Wisconsin.

If you're planning something in September for Montana, maybe you might precede
it with your MN WI plans here. There's a class B meet up in Grand Marais MN and
I'm told the area is very nice, really just a small town on the Lake Superior shore.
There will likely be some classbforum members there, as well as other class
B bloggers from RVnet.
viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1491

We're thinking of adding it to our September trip to Mt. Rushmore/Glacier NP.

, Hi, we just got home from a trip to Mustang Island, Port Aransas, Tex. Stayed at "On the Beach", had so much fun. We are from St. Louis, Mo area, drove down through Arkansas, into Texas. Spent one night at a Flying J Truckstop. Met lots of people making their way back home from their winter stay in Texas. We spent 3 nights in Victoria, Texas at Gateway to the Gulf Rv park. Very nice and the folks there were like "old friends" when we left. Great place to stay, or just stop over night. Then on to Mustang Island. Our stay there was soooo much fun, the folks at On the Beach, were very friendly, we will probably get back down that way again, traveling on back up to San Antonio, stopped there for the riverwalk, and the Alamo. We are having so much fun in our wide body Freedom Liesure Van. Best way to travel, no problems getting throw city streets, no problem parking. Just enjoyable to have.

Next month we are going to take a trip through Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Nevada, and then make our way back to the midwest, I am so looking forward to this trip, visit with old friends and family, I haven't seen in yrs.

Spring of 2010, we went ot Port Aransas, Texas..stayed at a wonderful rv park, calle, "On the Beach". spent about 4 days, walking the beach and just enjoying the peace and tranquility of the Gulf of Mexico. . Traveling back up through Texas, we spent a couple of days at San Antonio, visiting the Alamo, and the Riverwalk. We plan on going back there, it was beautiful, and all the people we met were very nice, made our trip very enjoyable. Then back home to Missouri.

In June, we left again, traveled up through Iowa, across S. Dakota, visited Mt. Rushmore. Visited relatives in Missoula, Montana. Then traveled down through Montana, into Idaho, across Wyoming, Nebraska and back to Missouri. What a great trip and our 2 Chihuahua's had a great time too. Our '99 Dodge Freedom got 15 mpg. That was so nice

August is coming and we are going to Buffalo, NY. going to visit the falls, and visit the resturuant where Buffalo Wings, orginated. Of course, there are relatives there, and we will visit with them..they well be our tour guides. Along the way I am hoping to enjoy, the Amish country of Ohio, and eat some really good homemade pie.

Hi! I travel between L.A., Calif. and Bel Air, Md. via my conversion van (Roadtrek 210 popular) and w/ my two dogs.I try to synchronize my trips with the schedules of family or friends because it's more interesting/fun with someone along. This time I'd like to get the word "out there" in case any "new friends" would like to drive tandem x-country. I anticipate a trip from Md.to L.A. in January. This is flexible as I have no time/date contraints. I'm open to any route. Look forward to hearing from you.

By "tandem" do you mean "ride/gas share" or "follow the leader"?
Just curious.

BTW, welcome.

We just got back from a 21 day 4200 mile ramble that took us from Kansas City, through the texas panhandle, NM, Northern AZ, Southern AZ, Southern NM and then 13 days in Texas. The highlight of the trip had to be camping in Big Bend National Park at the Chisos Basin campground at Big Bend National Park. We slept at 5,500 feet, completely surrounded (360 degrees) by 7,000 foot peaks. Very cool, and only open to rigs that are 24 foot or less.

I guess I should create a new topic with updated dates?
That trip sounds like something we'd do. We like touring, but like to rest every so often too.
BB NP sounds really nice. We have it as a "must visit" on our itinerary.

Mike, you are right on. We are beat after that trip. We need to learn to slow down and take our time. With the B, however, we can really cover miles when we want to, and that is always tempting.
