I just called the campground and reserved our spot for a 4.17 arrival. Looking forward to meeting all of you then.

markopolo, i'm with you on this one (canadian maritimes, maine, etc). but we're going from arkansas to niagara falls on 7/30, then to NB, NS, NF, PEI, Maine, then down the east coast all the way to key west, then back to jacksonville, then home. about 3.5 months total.

This fall we will be driving up the coast roads from San Francisco to the Olympic Peninsula in Washington, eating a lot of seafood along the way. After exploring the state and national park there, and the little towns, we'll take the ferry to Victoria, BC and spend some time exploring Vancouver Island (yes, rvs are allowed on the ferry).

Hopefully, we'll have the new rig by then.

I think some folks have said Custer SP isn't too bad. We just passed through Mt. Rushmore on our
way to Helena, MT 18 months ago. I believe it was via Devil's Tower, another interesting little geological
oddity in the western plains.

Good morning! This year we went to Florida for 4 weeks in January and enjoyed the camping around Tampa and the dry camping at the Myakka State Forest (not State Park) down by Punta Gorda. Then in May, we went out West for 4 weeks to CO, UT, AZ, back to UT and then home. In Utah, we always take State Route 128 just a few miles into Utah and wind down beside the Colorado River. It's just gorgeous scenery! We found a nice BLM campsite again this year just north of Moab. (There is wifi at the Visitor's Center in Moab.) After leaving our camp, we drove through Moab and down to Capitol Reef National Park, Bryce Canyon Nat. Park and Zion Nat. Park, staying several days at each one (3rd time for these parks!) Leaving Zion, we headed south and east around the GC North Rim, through Page, and down to the South Rim of the GC. Probably the 5th time visiting the South Rim, we stayed 5 days and took a couple of hikes as well as rode the Shuttle (go to Yaki for the best sunset.) After leaving the GC, we drove up through Monument Valley (noon is not a good time for pictures!) and continued on to Arches and Island in the Sky (again, 3rd or 4th time here....we love this country!) After camping again on BLM ground, we started home, intending to camp in Estes Park and drive the Trail Ridge Road, but was told at the Visitor's Center in CO that it had only opened one day earlier so decided to get off on Route 13 and go north to WY and then home on I 80. It was a beautiful trip. Now we are thinking we might travel East and do the states we have never been to out there, in August/Sept. Getting excited just thinking of it! (We really need to do this while we can......we are 76 and 73 yrs. old.)

We absolutely love Custer State Park, especially if staying in the smaller campgrounds like Stockade Lake South. We are going back for 3 weeks next year when I get retired.

Bandlands National Park has a no hookup campground that is quite nice, but can get very hot in the later summer times. The views in the Badlands are fantastic, though.

We drove through the Badlands last October during a bunch of controlled burns. Kinda smokey, but
you could still see the cool stuff.

Well, we just got our "B" at the end of April this year...

For the moment, we go out every weekend, exploring the regions around us... and we love it...

The month of July will see our entry in the states for one month or so, as we will be driving slowing down the coast...

Just cann't wait...

There are some really picturesque somewhat touristy towns along the way, like Freeport and Kennebunk.
I think you'll like it, but if you make Boston, and try for Cape Cod, try to do it during the week. We hit
it on a Sunday, and we couldn't beat the traffic jam trying to get there. Next time, weekday.

We have two trips done this year, one to Missouri for a B Social in the heart of the Ozark National Scenic Riverway. The second one was to Washington, DC, and back via West Virginia and Kentucky to Indianapolis for the Indy 500 Race, and then home via Michigan's Upper Peninsula. In West Virginia I reconnected to four first cousins I hadn't seen in over 50 years. In Kentucky we did the Kentucky Bourbon Trail tours and also camped at the Kentucky Horse Farm State Park north of Lexington and visited the adjacent Horse Park. Both are highly recommended.

On our way to DC we stopped in Willoughby, OH and visited a new Class B converter - Advanced RV. They will be converting Sprinters. The first one should be rolling out just about now. If you read their first newsletter you will see that I was their first visiting "customer". No, I am not in the market to buy a new B yet. Gotta "fill the ashtray" on the one I have now yet and I don't even smoke.

Now for the big one. Wednesday we are heading out for Alaska for the rest of the summer. We will first go to Winnipeg and visit the new Great West Van facilities then head on across Canada through Banff and Jasper before heading up the ALCAN Highway. Eventually after we exhaust every paved highway and I am sure some gravel ones as well we will head back but come down through BC to Washington and maybe Oregon before heading east to Minnesota again.
