Glacier and Yellowstone/Grand Teton are amazing, and I recognize some of the places he took pictures of, and described, from our latest trip west. It's an area of the continent that is definitely worth the drive.
Everyone should see it as a bucket list item. We drove the road through both parks (they're butted together along the north/south axis, and the hot springs by the roadsides in Yellowstone are matched by the mountains framing Lake Jackson in Grand Teton. I wish the Going to the Sun road in GNP hadn't been under construction. Now we'll have to go back, but that isn't really a bad thing.
Old Faithful seemed eerily delayed when we were there, but it was an impressive show once she fired up. You could easily spend a few hours in the geyser area there, but we chose to resume our trek south with Bryce and Grand Canyons being our preferred end point targets. We also saw elk roaming around the Yellowstone village and hotel complex, and more than one time watched Rangers warn some of the less intuitive patrons not to approach them. Over, and over, again. We spent the night (rainy) at the Lewis Lake CG as it was one of only 3 still open at that time of year. There are bison and other wildlife roaming the roadways at all times night or day, but it's easily more dangerous driving the parks after dark, so we stopped and slept.

Humorous things I noted :
He thinks we call gas stations "petrol" stations.
He called the roadside inukshuks that hikers build "cairns".
He laughed at Mr. 44 Magnum while in the same breath describing the "grizzly bear and her cubs" they spotted nearby.
