Default HOT Water cooking

I have one of those Instant HOT water dispenser in my camper it's an
EH1 EMERSON Water Dispenser. It puts out hot water at about 190 to 200 degrees F.
On one site they had some recipes and what this thing could do for you.
I don't really like instant coffee, but let me tell you after I turned the unit up , I burnt my lip and tongue on the coffey... I had to turn it down alittle.

I would love to hear some of your ideas.
Whats a good use for really HOT water.
Heres what I got so far.

Coffee Instant and Brewed . ( I bought one of those 1 cup makers , it's a pain, I drink about a pot of coffee a day)
Tea
Ramen noodles
washing the dishes ...it'll burn your hands carefull
Hot sponge bath

But I'm really looking for cooking recipes.
Thanks

Well if there's no ideas can I ask how many of you have one of these?. What's your thoughts on using it.
My wife doesn't care for it she wants a regular water heater. (probably not happening)

So do you have one?

I think some of the newer Roadtreks have a hot water dispenser. They'd also have another source for hot water for showering etc.

I can only think of using it for instant type hot beverages, tea & things like instant couscous.

We cook spaghetti and noodles with ours, just put it in a plastic container and let it cook, it doesn't have to boil. Keeps the moisture out of the van.

I have only a microwave and a hot water tank. The tank is heated by the engine and A.C.. The water heater has a mixing valve to bring the heat down to a reasonable temp (engine gets it to 200 degrees F). This water is used only for the head and for washing.

I carry gallon water bottles for drinking. If I want a cup of hot water I use the microwave. I have no stove or oven (only the microwave).

I like this system because the water heater gets left over heat from the engine (I have no propane).

We don't do a lot of cooking in the Van. We eat cereal for breakfast, Sandwich for lunch, eat out or eat leftovers for dinner heated in the micro. A large refrig for leftovers.

Paper cups/plates and plastic forks/spoons, also helps a lot to cut down on hot water usage.

I have the InstaHot in my RT. I have to say, we've never turned it on. It uses a lot of amps, and there are several other ways to make hot water which are in fact faster.

Nice response's
i was beginning to wonder.
Hot noodles for spaghetti..we'll be trying that.
We don't have a shower. But im working on an alternative . So no hot water other than the 1/3rd gal dispenser. I had no idea that there was one that took engine heat. That's neat. I'd like to see that.
My unit only uses 7 amp and works on 12v Or 110v
Only used it on 12v a couple of times and only when the engine is running.
BBQ : thats an interesting device. I could probably get my merit badge using that thing. Lol
I just wana hot cup of coffee when i wake up. LOL
Now if i could just get my wife to make it for me.
"2 sugers dear.,, 2" it could happen.

Our 800W water boiler is our most-used device. MrNomer has coffee and hot cereal for breakfast. I also dehydrate backpacking meals. They are also useful in the van because they require no refrigeration and need only hot water to reconstitute.

For example: Cook a pork shoulder in the crockpot for 8 hours with onion and seasoning. Pull apart and dehydrate. Vacuum pack. (I put it in a ziplock then in vacuum bag.). Don't be put off by the fact that it looks like horse feed.

Rehydrate with boiling water in the ziplock and let sit a few minutes. Match with some instant Idahoan potatoes made with more hot water or make a burrito, sandwich, etc. with BBQ sauce.

Another good one for winter is soup. MrNomer prefers split pea soup. I prefer pinto bean. We both add ham bone and meat with onion. I also add diced tomato and Rotel. Slow cook. He uses dried peas. I learned that canned pintos work muuuch better. Run through blender before dehydrating.

Actually, the pintos can be reconstituted as soup, or just add less water and you have refried beans for tacos, etc.

Default hot water cooking

We had an Instahot in our Hunter.
Tea, hot chocolate, instant oatmeal.
Karen would dehydrate Marinara sauce and an hour before stopping for supper, put the hot water in..........then just pasta when stopped and done.
Also handy for "greasy" dishes cleaning...
Our hunter had no shower so.......a towel on the floor to stand on, instahot water in the sink tempered w/ cold water and Viola !! sponge bath.
