Another good one for winter is soup. MrNomer prefers split pea soup. I prefer pinto bean. We both add ham bone and meat with onion. I also add diced tomato and Rotel. Slow cook. He uses dried peas. I learned that canned pintos work muuuch better. Run through blender before dehydrating.

Actually, the pintos can be reconstituted as soup, or just add less water and you have refried beans for tacos, etc.

Default hot water cooking

We had an Instahot in our Hunter.
Tea, hot chocolate, instant oatmeal.
Karen would dehydrate Marinara sauce and an hour before stopping for supper, put the hot water in..........then just pasta when stopped and done.
Also handy for "greasy" dishes cleaning...
Our hunter had no shower so.......a towel on the floor to stand on, instahot water in the sink tempered w/ cold water and Viola !! sponge bath.
