Default Increase payload for 2019 Promaster

From what I can tell, RV manufacturers typically build their model years on the previous years' chassis. So for RV model 2020 it appears that anything built on the Promaster chassis will have up to an extra 240 lbs of payload. That should be welcome news to B fans.

Welcome news indeed. Can never have too much load capacity.

Most of us find we're pretty close to capacity when fully loaded for a trip. Before our recent travels, I went to a CAT scale with our fully loaded Chevy-Express-based 3500 and was about 250 lbs. under capacity. Fine for the two of us, but if we were to have taken 2-3 grand kids, we'd be maxed out.

Yes, I see it as a chance to possibly increase tank sizes or simply allow for another passenger or cargo. It would be a bit surprising if other vehicle manufacturers didn't follow suit, since they love to be able to compare numbers to each other.

It might be useful to try to find the new max axle weights to find out which end, or both, got the weight increase. Depending on if you want more cargo or more passengers, which end could make a difference.
