asked questions today regarding awning poles ----
Well now I have a bigger issue -
While rolling it in a piece of the rolling mechanism broke n it came open and now no way to roll up
Where do I go from here - how do I take the awning off as it is flapping around n looks likes rivets holding it on
Of course one person job

You could drill out the rivets then caulk the holes. Eternabond tape is handy to seal a hole temporarily or permanently.

The awing material is likely designed to be replaced so maybe it will slide off or out of the roller part.

You din't say what model year RT you've got. On my 2000 RT 200 there are three L shaped metal plates riveted to the side of the RT. The awning is held by these three plates. To remove it, you just have to drill out the three rivets (one for each plate) from under the awning. Once the rivets are off, you twist the awning upward and it should release from the plates. The plates will stay on the side of the RT. However, this is NOT a one person job. The awning is heavy!

Yes my next question would have been is it a woman one person job
OK now I must look up how to drill out rivets
I am so sorry to say the guy I purchased it from saw me coming
And I kept thinking after this one everything will be ok
I have pages of things to be fixed that I am unable to do myself -
1992 roadtrek - yes it is an older model and I have owned one before
And 2 class As so have some knowledge. These are not thing that just broke they are things that have been previously broken n all repaired by a blacksmith.
I love roadtreks and wonderful way for women to travel n be safe but I am so disappointed in the seller

You asked how to get the awning off, but maybe you don't need to remove it. Is it a Fiamma awning? Look at this video ... it this the part that broke? If so, it can be repaired ... one woman job I think ... with the awning on the RT.

it will not let me open the video
Can not roll it up,, can not see how end cap for fabric comes off without breaking,
Thinking of cutting off fabric and manually sliding in arms and bungy cord it so I can take it to be repaired if any one sells this
It is a horizon and just afraid will have to purchase new

I just watched the video so the problem is at your end. See what you can do about getting the video to work even if it's on someone else's computer.

Removing the endcap involves drilling out a rivet and you need to replace that rivet when you reassemble.
