Default Going thru Canada...what about electric

I am traveling to Alaska and will be driving through Canada with a lot of time spent in British Columbia. In my reads I have come to wonder about electrical hookups. Do I need some kind of converter? I have a 30 amp system. When I traveled in Europe I needed a converter for certain appliances, is Canada the same? And if I do is it just for the connection or does their current also need to be converted to 120 V?

This is my first trip in a camper, 74 yr old, traveling alone, looking forward to a great time and hope to be experienced by the time I get back. I expect 6 weeks and 11K to 12K miles.

No worries - Canada has same power as USA.

Enjoy Alaska - it is a great adventure!

All of North America, Canada, U.S. and Mexico is 120v 60hz. Also, Canadian RV 15A and 30A receptacles look the same as ours.l

You may want to make sure you have a lot of power cord with you, as many of the places we stayed in Canada had the power posts a long ways from the sites, usually with two sites on one pole. We carry 100% of 12 ga extension cord, and use the 20 amp outlets when we use the long cord, normally, although we could also use the 30 amp with adapters. We have used all 100' plus our 15' normal power cord while in Canada.

.

Enjoy Canada...

Since you mention Alaska,
I should remind you that
Canada has a very strict firearm law.
Some people who traverse to Alaska carry firearms with them.
If you do, please check the law and procedure before entering Canada.

Bring a couple of cartons of cigarettes, they cost a fortune there and will make a Canadian very happy.

Thanks to everyone for the helpful advice. I have decided to NOT take a gun into Canada, what a hassle.
