Not sure there is a much worse spot to put house batteries than under the hood in the Sprinter at least if you want to keep them cool...

Don't hold your breath, remember how long it took for Lithium batteries to make it to the average consumer for RV,motorcycle,auto battery? I had to dis-assemble Dewalt battery packs to get cells years ago to use the new technology in my motorcycles.

My guess is they meant -40 F to +120 F, but since metric is so commonly used they made a typo.

Yes, -40 is -40. It's cold.
