Default Propane level sensor on RT Manchester tank.

I have a 2008 210P Roadtrek. I am tired of the inexact readouts; especially the propane level. Has anyone added a standard d'Arsonval panel meter as a readout? What is the resistance of the sensor and what is the transfer function (it is certainly not linear because the tank is a cylinder). Knowing that infirmation I can probably ink in the percentage values.

Thanks for any hints,
John

Most motorhomes including the Roadtreks have ASME tanks with float gauges. The specific resistance of the sensors appears to vary depending on the specific model of the gauge. The most common appears to be a 0-90 Ohm sensor. Here are a couple of links that might help, but ultimately you will have to determine the model of the gauge on your Roadtrek to determine the sensor values.

Who cares? When the gauge on the tank reads 1/8, fill it. You can run a furnace for days after the red pointer disappears completely behind the electrical connector. I know that because I am trying to empty one to remove the tank valve.
