Default How to use the ignore function

Just a little tutorial in case it is needed...

Navigate to: https://www.classbforum.com/forums/p...?do=ignorelist

(Or you can click on “User CP” in the light blue bar near the top of this page. That takes you to your Control Panel page. Then click on “Edit Ignore List” which appears in the Control Panel on the left side of the page.)

You can then add or subtract members you wish to ignore.

The problem with the ignore function is that it's a poor palliative for thinskinitis. IMO, the best thing to do with the ignore function is ignore it.

One doesn't have to be offended to want to wear earplugs in the presence of a loud noise.

I agree that the presence of deafening and/or malicious noise warrants the use of earplugs but I think the bar should be set fairly high.

Communication is a hybrid of content and delivery and ideally the content has high quality and the delivery is articulate and peaceable. Certainly, healthy criticism should employ a scalpel rather than a bludgeon. However, my experience is that flawed delivery is worth enduring if the content is valuable. I've received advice drenched with patronizing verbiage and my immediate gut reaction is to reject it until on second thought I realize that the value of the advice offered can be profitably separated from the motive and rhetoric of an adviser, even one that is ignorant of the adage that unless you win hearts, you probably will never win minds.

The ignore tool can be useful but if you see posts that are running afoul of the site rules you can hit the report post button to get a moderators attention. We will take a look.

The site rules are here: http://www.classbforum.com/forums/mi...ork&page=rules
and the short version is:

Be nice
Be helpful
Be polite
Have fun but not at the expense of others
