Hello from Texas!
I have a 2001 Pleasure Way that I've only taken out a few times. Less than 20,000 miles on it. Had never driven any kind of motor home before before buying it in St Louis less than 2 years ago. Drove it to Texas, going through Dallas congested evening traffic, which was a little harrowing.

Looking forward to some more trips when the weather cools down a little, & after working out a little kink in the generator.

These things all come with practice. Take it out, drive around town, to the grocery, the park, whatever. Out in the countryside. In time you will get a lot more comfy, as you learn how to set your mirrors, etc. These rigs are not that much bigger than, say, a Suburban.
Save the urban driving for the last. That's always the worst.

I've been using my 92 Pleasure-Way as my daily driver this summer hoping to work out any kinks for the long term. I eventually found an electrical issue that came down to a poor connection on the battery terminal. $2.49 later it was fixed.

If that happened on a highway somewhere that would have been a huge pain in the butt for such a simple fix.

So as suggested, drive it and get comfortable.

I'll second that. And add if you have electronic air pressure sensors in your tires, have them checked before you head out. We had a blowout on the Interstate in Vermont at 65 mph...the tire shop showed me why. The metal valve stem fatigued and let go. Told me it was not unusual. Cheaper to fix if caught before the stem snaps off. Cost me $190 for tire and stem repair. Nearly new tire, too. Warranty doesn't cover stem failure - no adjustment.
