Default 2008 RS Adventurous - Prototype Photo!

A quote from Roadtrek:

"We have managed to complete a prototype of the new 2008 RS Adventurous and have shipped it out to the F.M.C.A. Rally in Redmond this week.

http://www.fmca.com/conventions/2007redmond/ will take you to the website for the 78th International F.M.C.A. Convention."

------------------------------------------------------------

That's all I know. My assumption is that it will be based on the new (2007) Sprinter platform.

I can't wait to see a photo!

If anyone here is going to the F.M.C.A. Rally in Redmond this week please take a photo & send it to me so I can post it here.

I had an email from Mike Woods, a Roadtrek Regional Sales Manager. He's at the show but doesn't have a camera.

Some excerpts:

"It really has great automotive lines and styling."

"Head room increased 4 inches."

"It seems to be the star of the show."

Mike arranged for me to get this photo - thanks Mike (and Tess)!

The sliding door is full height hence the high mounting of the awning. I'll get used to that.

It's a really good looking RV!

Congrats to Roadtrek for getting one built on the new platform so quickly.

That awning position looks weird. I'm curious. The Dodge Sprinter site shows pictures of the sliding door terminating below what looks like the drip line and terminating above like in this picture. I wonder if there will be a choice.

Also note on this prototype the missing three decal trademark windows above the front windshield.

For those of you skeptics who think the Sprinter is top heavy or prone to flipping....watch this.

Steve those running boards look AWFULLY vulnerable on that long wheelbase...

I think this one is the "High Roof" model. There's also an "Extended High Roof" model.

I just did a test drive of the 2008. It was the day after a strong cold front came through Atlanta and the wind was strong and gusty. I was amazed at how stable it was. I could feel the wind buffeting the unit but it steered straight down the road with little or no correction on the steering wheel. Very impressive!
