Default 2016 vs 2017 sprinter chassis

I am looking at a few coachmen galleria’s and am finding some 2018’s buit on the older 2016 chassis and a few on the 2017 chassis.

Having a hard time finding out if there is any difference between the 2016 and 2017. I am specifically concerned if Mercedes changed anything in the emiisions components that may make the 2017 more desirable.

I am also suspecting if a particular Galleria is on the 2017 chassis it is a later build than one on the 2016 chassis and might have some minor improvements if Coachmen incorporated rolling updates throughout the build year.

Can anyone help shed some light on any differences.

There are some posters here that I'm sure can specifically address your question but I don't think there are any significant changes in the Sprinter chassis since they added the driver assistance features in 2014-15.

What I would pay attention to is the Galleria model year. For 2016 - 2017 and early 2018 the Galleria delivered without any inverter at all and had inaccessible flooded cell house batteries. Also they were standard equipped with an induction stove that required either shore power or the Onan to operate. The propane stove was an extra cost option.

Subsequently there were some unanounced rolling changes. Late 2018 and 2019 AGM Gallerias now deliver with a hefty 2kw Xantrex inverter/charger, an 8D 330 ah AGM and a 2.5kw Onan generator. If it delivers with the Li3 lithium option it will have a 600ah battery, a 3kw Xantrex inverter/charger and an underhood generator. So if you are considering any model earlier than 2019, be sure to confirm with the seller exactly how its equipped.

I'm not a fan of diesels but that said, IMO, the build quality of these Gallerias is outstanding.

.

Check the data plate for the chassis built date.

You don't want a 2016 chassis that was built in 2015.

That means the chassis has been sitting in the back lot for a long time.
The battery is probably compromised.

Is that the only reason? If so I could negotiate a better price for battery replacement.
