Default 94 Dodge AC duct closing

Hi All,

My 94 Dodge Falcon class B has a problem with the dash AC vents closing on hills, and the blower usually gets very loud. I'm assuming this is a vacuum problem, but I don't know where to look. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Sorry - can't help specifically but I did read a post describing the same symptoms and it turn out to be a collapsed hose but I don't know where exactly to look for it.

One of the vans I had did the same thing. Under the hood there are a couple of hard vacuum lines that are just to the passenger side of center. They go into rubber fittings. They got very brittle and cracked. If not there then follow them. It is definitely a vacuum leak.

I have a '95 Dodge. A couple of years ago, the AC, heat and defrost flows to the passenger side of the vehicle shut down. Problem was with the electro/pneumatic controller (the box in behind the dash push button controls). Some corrosion and line plugging within the box required it be replaced. New ones can be tough to find (the mechanic said he might have difficulty in finding a unit for such a "vintage" truck), but managed to locate one and no problems since. I agree it does sound like a problem in the vacuum system.

My 97 dodge does it also. I noticed the last owner had dodge fix same problem at 88,000 miles. I bought it with 94,000 miles and it has done it since then. He did not tell me it did it but my deal was too incredible to complain about. It only does it for a minute then switches back. When it happens it always defaults to defrost/heat so it is not a danger in cold weather.
