Default Anyone tried Outdoorsy?

Have you ever considered renting your vehicle ?

They take 20 percent of the rental to cover insurance, etc. which apparently is independent of yours and covers the deductible as well.

It does not cover inside vehicle damage, but, most people rent and have a separate fee for any incidental damage, ranging from $500 to $1,000.

If you've heard anything positive or negative please share... interesting website. Could be useful for us part timers?

Yes, I know, there's risks and I'm not convinced it's a good idea, but, maybe it is ???

Not a chance I would trust some rando with my rig... Too much to know and too much risk. Unless you can get enough cash to buy new batteries, pumps , and a fridge with every rental... Also I just about guarantee my insurance wouldn't pay for any damages caused by them.

Agreed:

I can’t imagine renting my rig to some boob!

We considered it as we were buying, but once we got hold of our rig it just seemed like a bridge to far to put it on the rental market. Too many moving parts, and a fair amount of bad experiences being reported. Not to mention there are other nuances. Know that the terms of your financing and personal insurance may disallow renting the unit. Outdoorsy insurance augments, does not replace your own personal insurance.

Default Read their insurance policy carefully

(yes all caps) READ THEIR INSURANCE POLICY CAREFULLY. I looked into it a couple of years ago. Their policy covered the renter and Outdoorsy well but not the owner. https://www.outdoorsy.com/help/important-documents

I was curious when I bought my van, so I looked briefly into the realities of renting it. I found my insurance would be dropped if I rented to anyone. So I would have to look into finding a new insurance company.
And I also found that my six-year warranty would be voided if I rented to anyone. So, the issue is off the table for at least six years. No more research needed.
