Surely it is hardly worth leaving at the end of February, we are beginning to think about returning, if the snow has melted!
I want to see a ball game or two before we head out to TX/NM/AZ/NV/CA. They don't start playing until end of February.
I guess 100 miles is a bit, especially in that area, highways are a bit convoluted I guess? We were thinking of
swinging by your 10-20 if you're still around down there in 2 weeks. Sounds like you'll be back by then.
It's still a bit cold out west near the canyons we want to go back to, so we're in no rush. The snow has melted.
C'mon back!!! It's balmy!!! We're in a wind/rainfall warning, so it's like Florida in hurricane season up here.
Too bad you missed the Obama sermon. I'm sure it was something special.

Mike,
We will be here until March 17th.
Tampa is about 2 hours, it is I-75 all the way.
It can get into the 90'sF down here in March.

Have fun.

Deryck

Deryck,
We'll be in the area in 10 days or so then.
Fridge full?
Jays start playing Feb 25th. We'd like to be in Dunedin then.
If not in town for their opener, maybe for the 2 on the weekend.
No stone set plans yet, but we're planning the getaway now.

ttyl,
Mike.

Hi Deryck,
Well, by now you're back home in Canada and we're back from a very hectic but interesting trip
thru the States. I apologize for not dropping by the Punta Gorda place but the storm delayed us
back on the 1st of March and we took an extra day to get to Dunedin. Then when we got there,
the Jays were off for a couple of days so we decided to just head out west to the Grand and Bryce Canyons
and scrap the spring training ball games. They'll be back there again next year.
Bad planning on my part and a snow storm changed our plans.

We were out and about for 3 weeks and are exhausted, as we pretty much drove from
place to place to see some of the things I've only ever seen on TV or in books.
We did (in roughly chronological order) NY/PA/WV/VA/NC/SC/GA/FL/AL/MS/LA/TX/NM/AZ/UT/CA/AZ/TX/NM/OK/MO/IL/IN/OH/MI this time out.
It was tiring to do it all in 3 weeks. But some of the things we saw made it well worth it.

Maybe we'll hook up next spring if we're in the Dunedin area. I'd like to try MLB in the spring again next year.
We have decided to keep our future trips to one destination per, and a max of 10 days including
drive time. So if we do, it'll be down for a week and back, no side trips.

Hope you, and everyone else on the forum are well,
and your travels have been relaxing,
Mike.

A tad aggressive perhaps? It was a lot of driving. The weather was good everywhere
except the Pacific Coast Highway between LA and San Francisco which was foggy just
over a week ago, and the southbound route from Buffalo to South Carolina on March 1 when
we left during the snowstorm that hit that area. There were cars all over the place
abandoned on I79-US19-I-77 basically until we hit the Georgia border.
There was snow, and the trails were icy, in Grand and Bryce Canyons. Zion NP was
relatively dry but we didn't stay, just drove through it on our way out to California
from Bryce NP.
Shorts were my choice on most days, except in the higher altitudes like the Utah and Arizona NPs.
Some nights were cooler than we expected (at altitudes over 3000 ft.), but manageable.
We managed to complete the drive in 3 weeks.
Another whirlwind tour. We said we wouldn't do it like this again, but there you go.
Exhausting.
Well worth it though.
I'll try to post up some pics over the next few weeks.
