There has also been a batch of bad alternators for the Promasters from their current supplier. The factory just told me to "disconnect the red wire" and once I get to Mesa, it will be La Mesa. I don't expect that they will provide me with anything more than a new alternator... and I don't expect that they will be in any rush to do it.

Is the bad alternator the one for the van itself, or is it an engine generator setup? I think all the engine generator ones come from Nations/DC Power, like they do for the Chevies and Sprinters.

I think it does have the GU option. If it was the OEM alternator, I don't think RT or LaMesa would be involved since that would be a Dodge issue. IMO, if the Nations alternator is overcharging and frying the coach AGM, although it could be an internal fault that full fields the alternator, I think it's more likely an incorrectly programmed or malfunctioning Balmar regulator or an incorrectly wired harness. It would be interesting to see the report. I think Nations supplies both the alternator and the regulator and harness.
