Maybe mlts22 could go check out the Austin location and see if they're legit.

Never heard of them, but pretty interesting. Under 20' and front to back sleeping in the rear. Pretty inexpensive for 4 wheel drive.

It would be fun to see one in person. We were in Texas last fall, too bad we didn't know then, if they were there then.

Nice - 2200 OCCC, high roof van (6'7" interior height) with EcoBoost gas engine, 4x4 and swivel seats, dual alternator with 2800W inverter, 2x 22" HDTVs, 400 Ah of lithium batteries, compressor DC fridge - all standard at $87K MSRP.

Ford does not offer 4x4, swivel seats or dual alternator as options so these must all be aftermarket.

300W solar is an option.

Tanks seem good sized for a B - 24/20/15/10 fresh/grey/black/propane

Looks interesting but a starter company. Something about their website seems phony, but it might just be all the stock photos.

THIS IS A FAKE COMPANY!
I looked at both addresses on google street view and they appear to be empty lots. I called the 1-800 number and the recording is very generic with no company names etc.

I reverse image searched the images of the interior of the van, and they are in fact stolen photos from this UK manufacturer. http://www.buerstner.com/uk/motorhomes/ ... revio.html

The images on the service page are stolen from Ford.

Not sure what is going on with this site, maybe it was a college project? Maybe its a scam?

It does seem too good to be true. I also checked on google street view, but thought it's possible the "for lease" warehouse in Dallas shown is just an older image.

But their purchasing page sounds a bit like some multilevel marketing scheme - you buy the van yourself from one of their sales agents, then send it to them and pay to be upfitted. This is also how Sportsmobile works, but maybe max4 could sell you the van (taking their margin) and then never upfit it and you're stuck with an empty cargo van? They say you are getting the van at wholesale prices, but I priced out a similar Transit on Fords website and MSRP came out less than the wholesale price max4rv quotes.

The other thing that's odd is they also own the domain http://atek3.com/ which contains the same website content. Both atek3.com and max4rv.com domains are registered to a Robert Baker in Dallas
http://whois.icann.org/en/lookup?name=max4rv.com

His email is greenboxdealer@gmail.com, and greenbox is a modular home builder in Dallas with a "Rob Baker" listed as national sales director.
http://www.prlog.org/12345113-multifami ... opers.html

But, it's possible Rob left greenbox and started max4rv in that empty warehouse shown in google streetview... and stole all those photos because he hasn't gotten his first customer and built an RV yet.

The photos aren't even real. The "4x4"s are composited into each scene. Look at the right reflection of the vehicle in the Sedona pic. A nice white gradient. How magical!

Like I said before. Maybe mlts22 could check them out. I think he lives in Austin. Does anyone remember the company a few years back that took deposits on rv's then went belly up?

Hmm, so Rob Baker (same name associated with Max4RV) posted a job listing for a sales rep for another company M3 Motors that is upfitting Nissan NV vans to buid a "Tour Sport RV" for $79K.

https://www.smartrecruiters.com/M3Motor ... rep-dealer

The business model looks similar to Max4RV - a network of RV sales agents that work on comission - but the sales agent has to purchase a demo RV (at 15% discount).

So perhaps that is the scam? Sign up sales agents by telling them they will make $400K/yr but they must buy a demo unit. So you never need any real customers, just more sales agents

Rob Baker is listed as VP Sales at M3 Motors in Fort Worth (right near Dallas)

I think that is what EKO was doing IIRC.

Just use this as a reminder when dealing with a small custom shop. Even if they are not a scam, you run the risk of them going belly up during your build.

I'm reminded of Eko Motorhomes, and this place sings the same song about "just take it to a car dealer for RV service". I'm also reminded of the dealer model where one purchases a unit. This is where I get worried.

Oh, there are no 4x4 Transits. Quigley is in late prototype stage, and Sportsmobile is around the same place as well.

I'm not wasting the gas to hit Dallas. Their unit is more expensive than the custom Sportsmobile build I have, even factoring in the generator, inverter, Truma appliance, and other items.
