I am new to this forum and to owning an RV. I have the roof and entire interior of a roadtrek. The gameplan is to buy a dodge extended van in good shape and start chopping it up. There is the strong possibility I will require some of your knowhow and wisdom to make this crazy dream a reality. We have a young family of 4 and are presently camping in our tent trailer.

Any suggestions or constructive advise will be appreciated. eg. what year dodge between 1995-2002 is best etc. Why I am doing this to myself etc.
I look forward to putting the pedal to the metal in the winter to escape the ice and snow

Wow! I'd love to come across something like that! and I have a 1998 Dodge Extended van

I can't really help you with specific answer but there are members of this forum that have built their own and should be able to help.

It is the Production Process of How are Roadtreks Made. It shows their newer models but it should be of some help.

Re: the Dodge van - there are complaints on forums about the handling of some vans. Basically, a good highway test drive should answer that question for you. My 1998 is easy to drive.

Your project will be a lot of work but also fun. Are you planning to camp with 4 people in the van? It probably would be a bit tight.

Also, maybe consider taking the Roadtrek factory tour in Kitchener.

Where or how did you manage to acquire said portions of the Roadtrek class B van conversion?
Just curious where you'd find that combo of parts.

I saw an ad on Kijiji once for a class B that had been accidented. Very late model for $7,000. Too bad I didn't have use for it.
