Why don't you just ask on the live chat on their website. There's no better source then the horse's mouth... or something like that.

Dealer said six months from the time they call in the order.
Now that we are approaching the 6th month, wondering how honest my dealer has been with us. Talking with dealer is not very forthcoming!

Aaah... Now I understand why you were asking.

RT will send out a notice when your unit goes on the production line.

If you have not received the notice,
then the chassis is still out there somewhere. Maybe in the back lot. Maybe in the trans-Atlantic cargo ship... maybe held up by the tariff in Mexico.

If you have ordered a Short Sprinter 4x4,
then forget it. You might not get it until September and beyond.
There is a World-wide shortage of Sprinter 4x4s, especially the short Sprinter.

Right now the timeline depends very much on what you have ordered. This is the time of year when they are low on inventory and waiting on the most popular chassis. They are pretty much out of 2017 platforms... so Promasters might take longer than Sprinters or Chevy... or vice versa.

Some are getting them in a couple months, but... they might be out of your color.

I just put in an order and my dealer asked for June delivery, but it will be a 2019 on a 2018 Promaster. This is when you need a caring and persistent dealer. And I am in no particular rush.

Thanks for the replies.
BBQ, the notice of the beginning of production would go to the dealer right?
Since the dealer is 4-5 hour drive away, and the wife still works, there is some logistics involved.
We ordered a Simplicity that comes on a Promaster 3500 van.

There is also a Roadtrek & Hymer Owners Group.

These are the place to go for the good, bad, and ugly of these rigs.

Is that because of censorship?

It is a desire to keep the focus on travel and RV life style. That focus success is evidenced by their member numbers and postings. As an Advanced RV owner I could care less about Roadtrek problems and don't want to pick through them, otherwise I would not be a member. But yes, since Mike Wendland, the admin of the forum is intertwined with Roadtrek so closely it could be conceived as censoring by some but it is just focus on the intent of the group. There are many other Roadtrek/Hymer groups on Facebook to get your kicks.

Edit: Of course Jim Hammill's participation doesn't help that conception.

Most of us 'long time' members of the specific Roadtrek/Hymer owners facebook pages were kicked off the Roadtreking group for merely mentioning that we were having issues with their fancy new tech stuff... or serious quality control issues.

One must drink the kool-aid and

Never been good at that...

I listened to one interview where Jim said they will take the Orders for the Chevy RT's, but would not start production until they have a sizable number to put together...I understand that, but if I am a prospective buyer, eventually doesn't work. Ron

For anyone that wants a Chevy RT, it'll have to work because other than Sportsman, I think it's the only game in town.
