Default New RT Zion Link

Any news of the new Zion Link ?

Roadtrek is Featuring ‘Alde’ Boiler System in B’s | RV Business

...According to a press release, Roadtrek is equipping its CS Adventurous series with the Alde boiler system in addition to the Zion, Zion SRT and the new Zion Link which now feature heated carpeting.
...
Roadtrek seems to be pretty quiet about it. Not ready to be launched? Too busy negotiating with Hymer?

Not a peep as yet that I've seen... but I'm waiting...

It's an odd naming. I suppose while we wait, we could speculate on what it means...

"...now feature heated carpeting" ??

I have heard of heated floors (with or without carpeting) but not "heated carpeting". Maybe they run water lines in the carpet?? Must be some new "revolutionary" system?

Oooops! I stand corrected! Alde does make a carpet for the front cab that has little water lines running through it.

http://www.alde.se/usa/products/mobile/?page=3015

But seems only for front cab, unless they are coming out with one for the remainder of the floor?

My speculation when I first saw it was that it would a "link" between the RT and Hymer Promasters.

Maybe they are going to do some sort of connection to your smart phone. Heck, if you talk to your smart refrigerator, why not your Roadtrek?

Better make sure you have a big data plan, since you'll be getting all those error messages.

Let's hope it's not some computerized link to something. The one that they are putting in some of their Sprinter units has been a nightmare for most of the owners who can't get it to work... and the dealers hate it.

FINALLY!

I guess it is preferable to continue on the other thread for more info on the 2 new models RT is planning to introduce in Tampa
Roadtrek will Roll Out 2 New Models in Tampa | RV Business

SCOOP
First image of the shower/counter contraption of the Zion Link.
Looking forward to see more!

Facebook comments:

Here's the telescoping shower stall behind the driver's seat in the Link. (In the closed/down position covered by a hinged countertop that lifts up against the window, allowing the stall to lift to full standing height)
...

...Wow.... Can you get a pic in its full? This is amazing.. But it still has the rest of the bathroom right?

....The toilet closet is across the hall in a cupboard that opens across the aisle (open to the back when in use). I couldn't get a picture of the shower raised to full height because the mechanicals weren't installed yet.... Prototype
...Thank you for the explanation

I reminds me of the under-the-counter toilet in the Sportsmobile Promaster conversion. Same location as the Link's shower.

From the Promaster campervans album
https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...2388992&type=3

More photos of the Sportsmobile Promaster from the post in the Class B Camper Vans FB group http://www.sportsmobile.com/inventor...ventory_id=444

That bulge is the toilet location.

My concern is that this is on a 1500 platform. Will there be actual carrying capacity left over after the upfit? A short unit that competes with their 17 foot Chevy is interesting... but if it has too many compromises, like the one they did on the Nissan van, it may not sell well.

No need for concern with the Ram Promaster. See, Americans respond to and understand the 1500, 2500, 3500, etc. designation. However, this never resulted in any changes to the Promaster after it was brought over from Fiat. We have yet to discover any different part numbers in relation to the suspension from each of the three models. The 3500 just gets a sway bar.

Surely there is a difference in the springs. The load ratings come from somewhere and are not just made up.

This has been discussed at length on promasterfoum.com. The part number for the springs for the 1500, 2500 and 3500 is the same.
