Default Promaster WB 136 vs WB 159

I have been searching for a Mid-Atlantic up fitter to install two captain chairs, side and roof panels, in the cargo area of a Promaster WB 136 van. I thought I finally found a place, but after visiting them, I learned they only up fit the Promaster WB 159. They have the panels and floors already in stock for other projects and don't special order for other size vans.

I really don't want that long of a van...I was thinking the WB 136 would be max...please let me know if I am sweating the WB too much...will the WB 159 be that much more of a pain to park, drive, heat, cool, and lower gas mileage?

The pricing for the conversion is very reasonable but my heart was set on a Sunlight/Carado Banff size but with four captain chairs. Please help sell me on the WB 159...or do I keep searching for another up fitter?

.

The 136 is really tiny.

I think that is what MsNomer has.

Buy what suits you.

The 159 comes in 2 sizes.
The ext is long
The regular is only 20" longer than the 136.

Thank you...the pictures really help with pushing me closer to going with the 159 WB. The 136 WB is just under 18' long and seems like it would be ideal to use as an everyday vehicle.

Wondering if anyone has experience driving the two sizes for an extended time and can comment on if the smaller 136 WB is much different than driving/parking the 159 WB?

At which van length does the driving experience really differ and become a noticeable factor?

.

The 159 is about the same length as a
Ford F150 double cab pickup truck with the short bed.

I just found on the Promaster Forum the same question I asked here...many 159 WB owners are fine with driving and parking this length so it is worth moving up from the 136 WB. I saw on youtube the Aktiv (I can't afford) is on the 159 WB.

159 will be an easier resale when the time comes.

Yes, mine is 136", which I am very pleased with. You won't go wrong with the 159", either. The 159" turning radius is the same as my 2006 (pre-behemoth) single cab pickup.

We have a 159 converted to an RV and we use it as our daily driver as well. Very easy to drive in town and park.

I originally thought I wanted a 136, but we ended up with a 159. Honestly, it's not that much more noticeable driving and you have 2 more feet inside the van. Parking for the most part hasn't been a problem. The 159 extended is 22ft long and that would be pushing it for some parking lots.

I would love to have a 136 low roof for an everyday driver.
