Default Replacing Roadtrek drain hose

Anyone have experience with replacing the main drain hose on a
Roadtrek 190?
Is this something a moderately handy person can do or is it best left
to the dealer?

This is not rocket science.

Which section of the hose do you need to replace?

Take lots of pictures before hand,
and replicate the connections during installation.

You can post some pictures on the section that you have concern.

There seems to be multiple small leaks along the entire length.

Yes I have done the replacement twice but on a 1996 190 Popular.

Depending on the model and year of yours, it may be different.

#1 drain the tanks before you start!!!!

#2 You want to get in up on a hoist (if possible) but at least with the front wheels up on a ramp to give you clearance to work underneath. Block the rear wheels so it can't roll off.

#3 make sure your drain valves are CLOSED

#4 Remove the end cap and the end cap connector from the flexible hose by removing the hose clamp. Take the connector off.

#5 Remove the screws from the rear of the outer PVC tube which houses the flexible hose.

#6 Slide the PVC pipe off of its mount, exposing the end of the flexible hose and the hose clamp. Remove the clamp and pull or cut the hose off the mount. DO NOT HAVE YOUR FACE UNDER THE END OF THE HOSE.

#7 Remove the hose by sliding it through the PVC outer pipe. Slide your new hose ( new hose should be best and thickest quality you can find, and at least 10' or 15' if it will fit in PVC pipe length)

#8 Slide new hose through PVC pipe and connect with hose clamp to drain.

#9 Slide PVC pipe over mounted hose and secure screws.

#10 Replace the end cap mount and secure with hose clamp. You will have to rotate hose clamp to line up with slot in PVC pipe.

NOTE: The hose clamp screw MUST slide INTO the slot in the PVC pipe when your hose is retracted or the hinge will not close so you can screw on the small drain cap that locks it from falling out on the road.

Good Luck ...........don't get wet!

The old blue sewer hose in the RT doesn't want to stretch. Luckily I have the old Lance camper that has a brown hose and a fitting that attaches to the RT blue hose end. I think that the brown hose is better has it retains its stretch and pliability.

Curiously, this old post is still available. Those are the instructions I followed in 2013 on my 2000 190P. I disagree on a few points:
1: It is not as easy as Harvey says. That said, a "moderately handy" person could probably do it, although you do need some strength and flexibility to be working under the van.
2: The hard part for me was the big black elbow. I had a heck of a time getting it off. I seem to remember swinging a 5-pound sledge hammer against a block of wood against the elbow, which isn't easy crawling under the van.
3. I thought the triple thick hose was too thick, and the double was a better compromise between reliability and length that will fit in the tube. Even with double, the entire 20 feet did not fit in the tube.

I just had my sewer hose replaced last week at a motorhome dealership, and I took a printout of the article in michaelingp's link (I had saved it a while back). I didn't really want to try changing it myself, and I had back surgery in May so I can't really do it anyway right now. I have a 1999 RT 190 Popular. I've read in previous posts that about 3 feet of the hose needs to be cut off to make it fit. The man who changed mine said he crammed as much of the hose into the pipe and cut off the rest. LOL.
