Default Roadtrek 190 Popular and carrying a motorcycle

I am looking at a 2013 Roadtrek 190P that has a generator

I would like to be able to carry my motorcycle (a harley road king).

Since this bike weighs north of 800 pounds, I need to have a three point carrier with a 2" hitch.

My question is this:
- Has anyone been able to successfully carry a large motorcycle on their roadtrek without removing the spare tire??

Thanks
Steve

Nope. I use a kenda standup trailer for dirt bikes as well 1/4 ton BMW. Don't even know it's there, so check mirrors often.

Are you talking about putting all 800+ pounds on the hitch? That is nearly the entire load capacity of the Roadtrek, and it would be way overhung in the back. The only way, IMO, would be with a trailer.

Hadn't thought of that.

Thanks

I feel dumb by asking, but would an enclosed motorcycle trailer work? 800 pounds on the tongue is similar to towing 8000 pounds, and all this weight is squatting on the rear axle.

As an added bonus, the motorcycle trailer adds security and vandal-resistance), and is a great place for overflow storage. Of course the downside is that one would have to place the trailer somewhere (RV park), etc. The trailer would also need immobilized when it isn't attached to your RV, so it (and its precious contents) don't vanish. This probably means a wheel boot or two, combined with locking lugnuts. A hitch lock is a joke and easily bypassed/worked around.

If trailered, the 800 lb. motorcycle would not give you a tongue weight on 800 lbs.

I don't think that is what he was saying.

He is saying that 800# on the hitch would put the same load on the hitch (vertical) as an 8000# trailer with the normal 10% of the weight on the hitch, or 800#. That is the weight the counts toward load capacity.
