Default RoadTrek 1999 Dodge 318

Hi All,

New to RVing.
Got a 1999 RT Dodge 318, but have not used it yet

Is there anything I should check more carefully when I first take it out for a spin ? (when the snow clears out)
Bob

Gee Bob it's going to be July or August before the snow clears up there!

Assuming that it was fully winterized before putting it away it should be OK. Driving it should not be any different from any other vehicle.

Don't rush to get the antifreeze out of the plumbing until the last frost is past.

Roadtrek International, Region 3, is having a Rally at Quebec City this Spring, hope that you can make it. (Exact dates not yet announced.)

Enjoy

You should be OK in April, just leave the anti-freeze in the plumbing. We find we can usually get away in May but then we do live in the 'banana belt' of Ontario. The Victoria Day weekend, usually around May 24th, is usually quite safe to travel in our neck of the woods. Any frost in May is usually quite light and will not damage anything in your vehicle. Most campgrounds don't usually get opened up until the May weekend down our way.

Hi Deryck,
Any more info on that rally in Quebec you mentioned? Date/park or CG location?
I went to the Roadtrek Intl. Chapter Region 3 site but sounds as if it's not finalized yet?
We made our way out there, and then to Gaspe last August, and like the area, very
picturesque and pretty. The park at Chutes-de-la-Chaudiere is a nice afternoon
stopover just off Route 20 at Route 73 on the south shore, about 2 miles from the
St. Lawrence River.

ttyl,
Mike.

Hi Mike,

No more info at the moment. I am not in the planning loop for that one.

The last I heard was it was considered that Spring was the best time for the Quebec City Rally but the St Marie among the Hurons/Midland Rally had some problems with a Fall date as the projected cruise was not available after the Labour Day weekend and nobody really wants a gang of Rally members during the 'high' season.

As soon as I hear any details I will post them on the Region 3 site. As usual I am in Florida at this time of year and anything they mail to me is freezing up in Canada. However, up until now, all communications have been via e-mail.

Hi Deryck,
No problem. I've bookmarked your R3 website and I'll check back every so often.

You back at the same place as last winter again? Gulf coast?
We're itching to get out again, and were thinking about the next shuttle launch
as a lame excuse for a road trip. It's scheduled for 04:39 on February 7.
Night launches are spectacular.

Enjoy.

Hi Mike,

Yes, we are back at Sun 'N Shade between Punta Gorda and North Ft. Myers. That is the Gulf side.

It's been a somewhat cool winter so far, even had a few frosts, the lowest temps for 61 years!

We do see the shuttle launches, from a distance, but I doubt I will be up for a night launch.

Even though it is cool, it is a lot warmer than you are!
