Default Running fridge works on electric - won't light on gas

Ok...more newbie stuff here. Fridge works on Electric just fine, but unplugged the unit and tried to light the unit and won't light.

Does the generator need to be on to run the unit on gas? Does the car need to be on?

Any tips on how to get this thing lit?

I'll be plugged in at camps, but wanted to run LP on the road to keep stuff cold.

Thanks,
Mark

You might need to clean out the burner

The fridge needs to have electricity to run off of propane - the fridge controls need it, as does the ignition for the propane. So the battery disconnect switch needs to be turned on so the fridge has 12v power.

You shouldn't need to turn on the generator, though. The battery should be sufficient.

Ok, wasn't able to pull out the burner...it's way down in the compartment, but did vacuum everything out around it and lit it. It's kicking a nice blue flame as it should.

So is it possible the flame is lit but the fridge is not cooling? Keep in mind the fridge works perfectly when in electric mode.

Thoughts?

.

It takes time for the fridge to chill.

How long did you leave it to burn?

I would expect 10 hrs to feel the cold.
But once it gets going, it will stay very cold.
