small, sheer tent for animals???!!!

We're taking our 2 cats - who don't travel well - on a road trip and would like to give them a small "tent" to hang out outside.

Any recommendations for something not to heavy or cumbersome?

I really doubt a fabric tent will hold them. I wonder if you might be better off with a collapsible wire cage. Something like this:
