Travato 59G fridge & rate of propane use question

Just curious if anyone has a broad estimate of how much propane might be used if I keep the fridge on propane for 12 hours while parked with no electrical? Setting off for my first road trip in my new-to-me 2017 unit tomorrow.

The amount of propane used for 12 hours is negligible. It will support the fridge for days. However, most propane fridges also need 12 volts to support a regulator circuit board, igniters and the control panel, so while you can shut down the inverter, you can't completely shut off the batteries.

If you are a member of the Facebook group, there is a current thread about this. The consensus was that it uses very little propane.

In addition to the electricity required for the brains, you will use .7 amp/hr just keeping the propane on. The propane tank will last for weeks.

In other words, you'll run out of battery long before you run out of propane.

Rough math, propane has more than 90,000 btu's per gallon divided by the 600 btu's that the burner is rated at equals more than 150 hours of actual burn time. More than a week IF it never shuts off.

Not a lot.

We spent three months on the road this winter in Fla 1/2 those days not connected to service like water/elect. Our 20 gal tank lasted 3 months and we had some left. We have a larger cf ref in our ERA
