I actually like the TS for certain family situations. It is cool. But i would not count on Connect ever working with cell connection.

I could be wrong though-lol-i often am

I think your info on the connect made us realize that it should not be a factor in our purchase at all. We will let you know if the fix installed after the recall did anything for the issue. It is a 2015 with 2k miles. Looks like one trip and back to the dealer with in about 4 months. Repo? not working for them? Just can't get the info

I am not sure if this was made clear, but you are VERY correct that the Volt start is not a good option for this model to be put in after market! So glad to have not bought it counting on that just because they were willing to take my $2500!

Default Remote start with Drone Mobile on Zion SRT

I installed a Compustar remote starter with the Drone Mobile add on. I can monitor voltage and temperature from anywhere (the vehicle has to be in cellular service area). I can start the RV from anywhere through the internet.

Default VoltStart for Joe Public

Hello all,

We are thinking of converting a van and like to install VoltStart some something along those line since we have dogs and would like to keep them cool.

Do any of you know if Joe Public can buy VoltStart?
Are there any other solutions besides VoltStart?

TIA,
Craig

There are lots of AUTO START options in the market place. Voltstart is only Roadtrek's flavor of it, and there is plenty of reports out there that theirs doesn't work well if at all.

Please refer to such systems as Auto Start and not Voltstart. It will make your searching for such equipment easier too.

Love it! I will pre-order two if an inventor is out there...

.

Which van do you have in mind?

How far (and how long) will you be away from the van/dogs?

Where do you want to use this "Auto-start"?
If in a city, does the city allow idling engine?

There are NOT a lot of such options for the Sprinter (as I said, there used to be, but not as of MY2014). I don't know about other marques.

I agree that "Voltstart" is the wrong name.
