Default What can we expect at the shows this Fall/Winter?

With the big RV shows approaching, what can we expect? Will the manufacturers debut all of their new models at Hershey this month? Or do they typically space them out over the fall and winter shows? Do the European RV shows coincide with the American ones?

Will the Transit be a no show again?
Will any more manufacturers debut Lithium options?
What are the odds Wincrasher will be trading in for the 2017 Travato?
Will HymerCar USA be announcing when and where the Grand Canyon can be purchased?
What other products/technologies/layouts are people hoping to see at the shows this year?

Interested to hear everyone’s predictions.

Wincrasher is going to buy a Roadtrek 210 EcoTrek because he is chafing at the chance of buddying up to the RT masters or having the thrill of bitching and being banned.

Manufacturers in the US debut new models throughout the year.
European RV shows could not care less about US shows. They are comfortable knowing they are better than the US in regards to motorhomes. The only thing we have is slides.

I certainly hope we see a Transit van conversion or at least a class C but my guess is we will not in the near future.
HymerCar USA seems to have quietly left the US market.
Lithium batteries will definitely be all the rage in new models like we have already seen with Roadtrek and Pleasureway.
I'm afraid everything else will be a lot of ho hum like it has been for decades in the US.

I think James at the Fit Rv recently mentioned in a blog comment that two new Transit models will be debuting this fall. Maybe Winnebago and/or Pleasureway?

Maybe someone can track down that post. If it's a van conversion I'm very interested in how they position it against the Sprinter and Promaster.

Gemlake, is this James' Hershey/Transit comment you were thinking about?

So he was speculating.

I would guess that he had some inside information. We'll see.

I can't decide what I think about that comment. It feels like speculation but he does have a close relationship with Winnebago who is probably most likely to introduce a B or small C based on the Transit.

I think if we see anything, it'll be a small, non-slideout C on the cutaway chassis. Or if it has a slide, it'll be a single small one. A class B? Big ????

I believe when James stated Transit feeling, he was speculating

A small, slide-free C would be very appealing to me. The View/Navion all come with slides and the Trend is lacking cargo/weight capacity, plus the drop down bed is bound to wear out under heavy use. So something in-between feels like it'd be perfect for a family of 5 + dog that wishes it could fit in a B, but realistically can't.

Perhaps someone with a Trend can comment but I believe Winnebago uses the Project 2000 bed lift, which I know is in the new Brave. It's the lift mechanism that's in most motorhomes in Europe. Plenty durable.

Are those lifts designed for vacation/weekend use or full time living? With all the things that can break in an RV, I'd prefer to leave out the ones that leave you stranded on the side of the road (slides, lift beds over seats, etc).

LOL. Actually I've been dreaming of a 59K lately. Who the hell knows what I'll do from one day to the next.

Check the ground to see if it's frozen solid if I report sending Jim Hammil a check.
