Default Winnebago Era Website Changes

Since I'm considering strongly a Winnebago 70C, I periodically check their website. This morning, it looked different. The Era home page now mentions the new 4X4 and not much more. Plus the graphic text in the heading says Sneak Peek. Is that a white model in the picture? Digging deeper, all photos of interiors are now gone. The specifications page includes the 4X4 (for 70A and 70X only), and the Heating & Cooling tab mentions the Truma Combi Eco Plus Heating System. I can't wait to see what they unveil.

Link to Winnebago: Winnebago Class B RV | Touring Coach Motorhomes

Looks like the Travato brochure is new from last month (September) so a new ERA brochure must be coming soon.

Dealer mentioned the interior has gotten a makeover (think 70C Poliform cabinets / latches) across all trims / plans. I think it may look more upscale i.e. Interstate / Adventurous but at a lower price point.

So far there are no adds or videos that show a new Era with either the Truma or an updated interior.

They will not hit production until November. The new interiors do look nice and represent a meaningful upgrade. Bed in 70A uses a similar material to what is found in the Travato Twin beds.

ClassB4Me, did you see the new interior at Hershey? I just checked Wincrasher's Winnie writeup again and he didn't mention it.

If you ordered today, do you know how many months would you have to wait?

Yeah, at Hershey there were no new interiors. Not even the Truma system or mention of it. Just the 4x4.

The recent updates will not be in production until November. Quotes time from order to completion is 6-8 weeks.

It's probably a good sign that they didn't show off the new interior or Truma system. A lot of companies rush those changes out. I much prefer the slow and steady approach, but then I won't really be in the market until the end of next year at the earliest.

Thanks ClassB4Me. If ordering only means waiting 2-3 months, it'll be a no brainer for us to look around and see if deals are to be had next fall before making a final decision.

I have also heard 8-12 weeks and a price increase of $9000-13000 on the base unit.
The dealer price list is not out but the web site says base is $120k which is up from previous year by $7000. They have made several improvements from improved sound system, corian, improved lighting, fog lights.
We are trying to decide between a 70A or a View. There are advantages to both and the price difference will not be much.

When we ordered our ERA in very early February 2013 from Lichtsinn, the delivery date was almost exactly 8 weeks to the day. An out of Iowa dealer would have been longer back then.
Since then they've moved into a newer, larger assembly plant for their class B offerings, and supposedly streamlined the process somewhat, but they are also building the Travato now

Default Era Website Finally Updated

WGO finally updated the ERA web site today. Same floor plans as before but all photos are of 70X only. Are they saying something here by not saying something?

Don't think so, but the C has been a sales disappointment for them I know. The A is the volume seller by far

Leisure Travel walked from the Class B segment. Maybe the profits are not there.

Oh, I think there is plenty of profit. More likely they lack the production capacity to do both well, and so are concentrating on the larger market.

Default Era 2016

It has taken them so long to update anything with the 2016 model and specs that this is a start. The configuration of A,X,C stays the same just some of the specs have changed so I guess they are just not in a hurry to supply all pictures.
From a marketing point of view, the X looks more open than the A and looks bigger. I do wish the would copy Pleasure-Way FL design which looks and feels very open.

I should restate.. Maybe the profits margins are greater on the Travato line. The market for luxury purchases is starting to slow down. Are we in a buyers market?

The Travato line has exploded at the expense of the ERA line. Learned this last week at an RV show in Iowa.
WGO is cutting back on Sprinter orders from MB. They think the Transit is going to hurt it further
