Default Adding ATF cooler bypass

I'm adding a ATF cooler with bypass because I live in a colder climate. I was wondering if it matters how the bypass is installed because I do not know the direction of the transmission fluid. They have arrows of the flow on the bypass so I think it would matter? Aside from starting the vehicle and watch the direction of the flow. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks Gregg
