Default air conditioner problem

Air conditioner in cab of 1998 Rialta stopped cooling with previous owner and new compressor was installed while on a trip. Malfunctioned later and another compressor was installed, mechanic said the first one did not have dryer replaced at the time. There was a noise from under the hood prior to ac going out, previous owner said. We are the new owner and experienced a noise and a/c stopped cooling.

Before we take to mechanic, we would appreciate feedback from other owners.

I am sure you need to get best HVAC contractor for your A/C. I had similar issues with my heating and cooling appliances and it was resolved by reliable contractor.

If this is the case near by Toronto so I belive that for heating and cooling Toronto best home services, Cosmopolitan Mechanical is the best choice.

the Automotive a/c system is not complex on these rigs , ive fixed a few . However its expensive to fix properly any Compressor replacment requires the Lines to be flushed a new dryer / accumulator also the expansion valves to be replaced . the system vaccumed out and refilled with the proper amount of freon. any competent automotive a/c shop should be able to do this... Hope i have helped FRED (ase master auto tech)

Ps .No short cuts do it right the first time..

Fred is right, replacing the air compressor is pretty straightforward, but it does take awhile. We had to replace ours during a cross country trip. The A/C just stopped cooling in the middle of Nevada. It cost $450 but the techs worked on it all day, doing all the steps Fred recommended. So: (1) Go to a reliable technician; (2) Be willing to have your Rialta in the shop all day; and (3) Address this right away. You don't want to do further damage. Our techs told us that if "black dust" gets into the A/C system, you're in very big doo-doo.

I agree with your statement that whenever you have problems with your air conditioning heating and cooling units , you must call the ac service professional as they can check well and maintain your ac within minutes or hours depending upon the problem.

1994 Eurovan based westfalia ....

it is similar to our Rialta`s system

and I remember years ago when the system broke , the specialist found some hose debris in the compressor strainer ....told me better change the hoses

I changed hoses ,compressor, and Dryer ......never failed after ( over 6 years now )

the hoses have a certain life expentacy like the rest .....
