Default Heater won't shut off in 2005 qd

Does anyone know how to unhook the 12v power to the water heater? We are on a road trip down in Florida and for some reason the water heater will not shut off. We don't need hot water, and it is creating uncomfortable heat in the van at night when we are trying to sleep.

Turns out it is on the same fuse as the water pump, so I finally got it off. But now whenever we want to use water, I have to get down on the floor and put the fuse back in

any ideas??? I would unhook the power lead to it if I knew how to do it....

The water heater only runs on 120 volts, not 12. What you're seeing is the Motor-Aid feature. Coolant from the engine goes to a jacket on the water heater so you have hot water when you stop. There's no way to turn it off without installing some valves.

Thank you for the response Duane. Turns out what was running was the shower pump, which explains why it was also on the water pump fuse. One of us must have accidentally hit the switch in the bathroom and we never use he shower so I didn't think to check that. All good now.
