Default Mechanic for Rialta in NW Iowa, have a miss in engine.

My 1996 Rialta is having a miss while getting my speed up. If I let off the gas and get back into it then seems to runs fine. Replaced plugs & wires & mass air intake sensor. Any ideas as to what is wrong? Anyone know of a mechanic in NW Iowa who works on older Rialta?

Default Miss in engine

Any thoughts on why the engine misses just as I'm getting my speed up but if I let off of the gas and get back into the gas it comes out of it.

Fuel system related?
Any VW shop should be able to work on a VW motor

We did take our 1996 Rialta to the VW dealer about an hour away from us and $2,100.00 later the problem still not fix after they replaced parts. They said our Rialta was too old for their computer system wasn't set up to hook our Rialta too to see what is wrong. I had learned there is a way to get the codes.

Any reputable dealer would have access to AllData either on disk or online. Their excuse of too old was to shotgun parts at your van and charge you more.

An $80 scanner from Harbor Freight can read your codes. Some vehicles have dash light codes that you can generate with the ignition key as well.

I've heard that 1996 was the year that the OBD sensor/readers were used. If after 1996, you can plug into the socket under the dash. Before that year, I'm not sure.
