Default Tankless water heater?

I have a 1995 Rialta QD and I am replacing the water heater with a tankless propane one from Excel. I am trying to figure out a good mounting position, anyone have experience or suggestions? It has to be mounted vertically with 12 inches of clearance but I have read 3-5 is fine. Was thinking about the wall on the driver side behind the closet but the clearance is not enough and might have to move the panel for the battery etc check.

Thanks,

Gabe
