Default Where to mount CB antenna

Want to put a CB in our Rialta. Mounting the CB radio in the cab no problem, but anyone have any experience or suggestions about where to mount the antenna on the exterior of the vehicle?

Thanks

Greg

I've been thinking about this myself for a while, and the other day I saw an astro minivan that had one right in front of the driver on a bracket in the gap in the hood. It looked 'professional' and I liked that you could remove it without leaving a gaping hole visible.

Bear in mind I've not actually done it so I dunno if it's a good idea or not.

Your anttena needs to be a ground plane type. Here is where I mounted mine on the passenger mirror.

On the mirror mount, I used a simple "L" bracket from Lowes. I used one of the holes already drilled and measured for the second one. I used a copper tube on the "L" bracket for the antenna bracket to clamp onto. I purchased the CB antenna off of EBay. Total cost was about $25.

I used the same screw that was on the mirror, maybe a little longer?
