Default Will a queen mattress fit in the rear dinette space?

I'm looking at floor plans and bed measurements and see the dinette bed measures 50X79. A queen mattress measures 60X80.

Looking at photographs of Rialtas, it appears the back windowsill may afford a mattress width increase of another 10 inches if the bed platform was raised to the height of the sill.

I'm in Hawaii, where there are almost no RVs for me to look at.

If someone with a rear dinette Rialta could take a look at the rear shelf/sill and let me know if it looks like it is 10 inches wide, and if it's square enough at the corners to allow a 60 inch queen mqttress to fit at windowsill height, I'd appreciate it.

My wife and I are planning to tour the US, the Rialta looks like a great machine, and we think we could make it slightly better if we could fit a queen mattress in the back.

We wouldn't need to use the dinette at all, would just plan to put a regular bed mattress in there and use the space below for storage.

Thank you,

David

We bought a full size "temperpedic" (foam) type mattress topper for our '03 QD and it works well. There's only an inch or two at top and bottom left so i think you'd have a problem with a queen. Only problem we have is storing it as it and pillows, any blankets, etc take up the whole wardrobe. But if you intend to turn the rear into a full-time bed, it should work. Our "traveling" mode is to make the two passenger seats into a bed allowing for naps and resting while having the rear dinette to use as intended.... Our two Cavaliers like this two. Wish you great traveling.

From the edge of the shelf you'll have about 12 inches before you reach the tensioner screw for the back blinds(could be removed). After that, maybe 1-2 more inches room. You'll have to remove the drink-holder set-up on the back shelf. Also the thickness of the mattress will matter also because the back corners curve in slightly as you move up.

I am all new to travel as well and had a similar problem. Not sure how to solve it too! There is so many mattress companies. All I know is that it's prbly best to go with a memory foam type for my RV. bc spring is just a pain to move.
