I haven't seen anything beyond what's in the article, but:

Interesting. The Earth Cruiser expedition vehicle has a high performance water filtration system the allows you to draw water from lakes, ponds, rivers, etc. and fill your fresh water tank with purified water. It also allows you to reuse grey water by cycling it through the water filter back into the fresh water tank.
