Default ProPEX expander fitting kit?

For RV plumbing, as far as I know, the "right" way to do PEX connections to have them last years to decades are not Sharkbite fittings where chlorine can attack the O-ring to cause leaks (there was a post on the Airstream forums about someone who tried using those, more than half of them leaked.)

I'm wondering if it might be worth it to buy a Uponor ProPEX fitting kit, with a Milwaukee Tool M18 cordless expansion tool. From what I've read, this is, hands down, the best way to do the job. It is expensive, but wood damage from a leak due to a bad fitting would more than pay for this tool and the fittings needed.

What other ways are reliable for plumbing, if repairs/upgrades are needed?

I guess the immediate question would be the benefit over the tried and true crimp on stainless or copper clamps on PEX rated barb fittings? I also never cared for Sharbite fittings.

AFAIK, the benefit is the constant pressure the expander ring squeezes the pipe with after it shrinks down onto the barbed fitting ensuring it stays put. Done right, the pressure is even all the way around and doesn't work loose with vibration.
