Sportsmobile Owner's Forum:

A ton of great information and owners here! I'm a member and have read countless threads, and have learned so much about SMB's so far, and I don't even own one yet!

I saw a Sportsmobile Sprinter at a Texas campsite over the weekend. Sweet looking rig! We were the only two Class Bs in the place -- big 5th wheels distinctly the crowd favorite. It was fun watching 'em take their TankBuddy for a ride to the dump station -- hooked to the back of the big dually pickup's trailer hitch!

In November 2007 we were on our way home from the deserts of Southern California and my Wife mentioned that we could have done a lot more exploring if we had 4WD.
That was all I needed and since we weren't too far from Fresno our next stop was Sportsmobile.
We were there a few hours looking at finished vans and vans in progress. They only had Fords and Sprinters and I was only interested in a Diesel Chevy. They did not convert GM products and they could not get one from Quigley because of the contract between Quigley and Roadtrek, but they could build the van if I supplied it.
We spent plenty of time searching for a van and designing the layout we wanted. During that time I could not get anyone to answer my emails or return my phone calls. I finally got thru to someone else that told me they would work with me because the other saleman was no longer there.
After sometime of the same routine we gave up on Sportsmobile.

Since we were happy with the layout and features of our Roadtrek 210P and all it "needed" was more ground clearance and 4WD we had it converted.
We now have the engineering features of the RT that we could not get with the SM (Full Bathroom, larger refridgerator, larger water and holding tanks and more) and a Chevy with 4WD.

Sportsmobile does make a nice conversion and with all their business their customer service is probably pretty good.
This is one time that poor customer service worked out for us.
