Yup, that's a good thing but in my Axion, the bed runs along the driver's side, I find it more comfortable to sleep with my head a little higher than my feet.

I wanted the levels b/c hard for me to sleep with head lower than feet or with a feeling of falling out of bed.

Hi Merlynda, I recall you didn't have access to FB. Far from me promoting FB but there are some informative threads going on re ecotreck wiring config (charge vs discharge side) and how to reprogram the solar controller. It seems RT original settings are incorrect and need to be readjusted to prevent ecotrek batteries from overcharging, particularly if your Axion has the H rev batteries.

Since the front of the Promaster is lower than the rear, just put your pillow towards the rear. LOL Actually I use a full length bed wedge that makes my head about 7 inches higher than my feet... plus I have my head against the rear door.

Oh. Nice you remembered I am not on “AssBook” -lol

Well those are scary things. I’m still working on getting the coolant potential leak and UG wiring checked out.

Hey Mumkin,

This is NOT meant in a negative way AT ALL. I LOVE your posts. I am just asking...

Since you don’t own a Carado Axion - the smallest Class B made - Why are you so interested in the Carado Axion posts? Just asking. T H A N K S

Cause I like 'em. Was on my short list, but just not enough storage - and space for my dog stuff. And since we both have Promaster units built by the same company, I often know the glitches. I'm actually sorry that I bought my Simplicity when I did, as I watched dealers selling their Axion inventory for $47-48K after FEb 15. For that price I could have gutted much of it and upgraded the floor plan adding more cabinetry. And, I lost the dog this winter, so it would have been more workable.

You lose a lot by skipping facebook. I totally get what you don't like about it. You don't have to get involved with its "social" issues, but it is great for RV troubleshooting. Like during the blizzard last week in SD, we had a first time user of her Hymer and she didn't know how to turn on the heat... it was late in the evening... and she had to pull off the highway because it was too icy to drive. We had 4 or 5 people walking her through the system trying to get it running. The problem was located, but she wasn't able to get it fixed until the next morning. (her propane wasn't on and she couldn't make it turn on... took a major wrench with a mechanic the next day to get it to turn)

There are lots of very knowledgeable people over there especially to help you fix the numerous issues with their lithium systems and incorrect programing of inverters and solar controllers. Changes that will keep your expensive battery system alive longer.

Oops... forgot to mention this. I have had the coolant/GU issue. My GU has been disconnected and dead since last fall. It is one of the recalled ones that was mis-wired and boiled one of my batteries. (I have two AGMs... by choice) You have the Balmar controller that likely needs re-coding too, so you weren't on the recall list.

The coolant issues can be caused be a Promaster issue or a GU issue. Since I was aware of the belt/hose possible problem, I had the mechanic who installed my Sumo springs a few months back check it and he said that it looked fine. Because we know of a couple people who have lost their engines, I really keep my eye on the temperature gauge. A week or so ago, a neighbor was blocking my driveway, so I parked up the street and when I got to the driveway I saw that there had been a leak... and it was pink stuff. I popped the hood and saw that the reservoir was totally empty. So, I refilled it and made an appointment with the Promaster dealer. They had it for two days... did two pressure checks with a flush and refill in between and they could find nothing. Nor could they make it leak.

But I keep coolant on hand, still keep an eye on the temp gauge, and keep checking to make sure that nothing is leaking.

Wow. I will join “ASSBOOK” under a fake ID. Thanks Mumkin.

I had the same thought about buying a firesale Carado. Except turn a Banff into Axion layout. But decided the short length is best for me.

Been using it more and more as a daily driver.

Understand now why people love their minivans
