Default Lippert 360 vs black tank odors update

The occasional odor concern (esp when driving and opening a front window) has completely disappeared since putting on the Lippert.

for those who experience this on occasion consider adding something to actively pull gasses out the vent if you are sure the vent is clear ( shop vac vs mud dauber wasps)

since install we have about 6,000 miles driving and 20 nights in the van and "the problem" is gone.

so I'd put this near the top of <$50 tweaks

Thanks for the update. It is good to know that they work. I have to admit, though, that I believe that finding and fixing the leak is a better solution. I do realize that this isn't always easy.

This is not a "leak"

on a moving van, if you open the windows- esp the front- low pressure is formed in the van....that is why in the old days the cigarette smoke gets pulled out the window

a bare stub of vent pipe can have air forced down it, it can have a positive pressure

the pressure differential can be enough to overcome a water trap in the P traps or standing water in the toilet.

a constant pull from a venturi at the roof vent will relieve that.

and that's what the 360 will do, whether driving or parked with a slight breeze

Well, maybe. But in 12 years and two rigs, I have NEVER had the slightest bathroom odor. And I do not use chemicals of any kind. If you were really forcing water through a trap or the water in the toilet, you would surely hear it. (Maybe you do?).

I don't mean to be argumentative, and you obviously know your rig and I don't. But I think you have a leak, or else a design flaw in your plumbing.
