Default Modified Onan 2800 exhaust

Replaced the Onan generator exhaust on our 2016 Pleasure-Way Lexor TS this weekend. I fabricated this with 1 12" straight pipe, 1 30 and 1 45 degree bend (all 1-1/2" diameter) plus a Cummins 1552449 muffler. The exhaust now it exits the rear away from the side vent windows (thanks Gina!) and is noticeably quieter. Removable Ambienceo Motorcycle Muffler is lightweight and easily stored. It's still loud, but my sound meter app said 75-76 dB at 3 feet before and a steady 72 after (with no load).

Where did you get the motorcycle muffler. What is the noise level with the motorcycle muffler removed?

Nice job. I see you also added the Onan resonator. When I added a resonator to my genset it made the sound a bit lower in tone and more pleasant to the ear. I did not measure if it was quieter, but maybe a tiny bit.

The 72 dB (with my phone app) was with the motorcycle muffler installed. I purchased it on Amazon for about $30. I did modify the muffler and tail pipe to make it easily attached. I can provide more details if you are interested.

Actually every component for this was obtained from Amazon and assembled with a small MIG welder.

Thanks. You are right, it's still loud, but less raspy. Dropped by noise level by about 3 dB if you trust my android sound meter app. I wish there was an integrated generator that sounded like my Honda.

Yes, less raspy is a good description of the sound change with the resonator. Although I don't find mine as loud and annoying as other's do, it's a mystery why onan cannot silence their exhaust note and remove the biggest single complaint of their generators.
