Thanks Marko, it is really interesting to see how the B community is growing, and at a fairly steady pace. I see where EHG really grew between Jun '17 and Jul, but drops in Aug. It is hard to imagine how manufacturers could not pay attention to detail (we've discussed it here frequently), to keep competitive and favorable comments in the forefront of prospective buyers. Ron

Whatever the blip was for Roadtrek/Hymer this spring, it appears that it is over.

I expect further increases from WGO. All their new Revel's are sold thru the year and a backlog has been created. Will they expand production?

I've been kinda surprised at the excitement around Revel, but it appears to be a product that is going to sell well. When was the last time there was such excitement about a B-Class launch? Travato!

Perhaps these number will speak in German to Hymer Germany management, their English must be limited.

Actually that apparent EHG growth in July is just a spurious artifact of the discrepancy between how SSI reports monthly vs. quarterly sales figures.

The SSI reports released in RV Business each month are actually Year-to-Date totals for the preceding months, so unfortunately actual sales trends for each month tend to get buried in the YTD cumulative values. However the quarterly SSI reports usually provide YTD, Quarterly, and individual month market shares, the only time that true month-only values are available (except January when YTD is of course identical).

Restated with YTD vs Single month totals the correct market shares would be:

June 2017 YTD Total
Winnebago Industries Inc. 33.7% market share.
Erwin Hymer Group North America 31.7% market share.
Thor Industries Inc. 17.1% market share.

June 2017 Single month sales
Winnebago Industries Inc. 40.2% market share.
Erwin Hymer Group North America 26.8% market share.
Thor Industries Inc. 14.2% market share.

July 2017 YTD Total
Winnebago Industries Inc. 34.5% market share.
Erwin Hymer Group North America 31.3% market share.
Thor Industries Inc. 16.5% market share.

August 2017 YTD Total
Winnebago Industries Inc. 34.8% market share.
Erwin Hymer Group North America 30.4% market share.
Thor Industries Inc. 16.6% market share.

It's unfortunate that SSI doesn't provide the YTD vs Monthly breakouts for each release.

September 2017 shipment report is on RV Business: RVIA: September Shipments Retain Record Pace | RV Business

It shows a slight dip of 4.1% YOY for Class B's but it is still a great year with 915 more units shipped YTD.

September 2017 Class B Sales stats have been posted on RV Business: SSI: Class B Sales Enjoy 29.1% Rise for 9 Months | RV Business

Quote:
Winnebago Industries Inc. led the segment through September with a 35.1% market share followed by Erwin Hymer Group North America (30.1%) and Thor Industries Inc. (16.5%).
Here's the Class B market share breakdown:

July 2017
Winnebago Industries Inc. 34.5% market share.
Erwin Hymer Group North America 31.3% market share.
Thor Industries Inc. 16.5% market share.

August 2017
Winnebago Industries Inc. 34.8% market share.
Erwin Hymer Group North America 30.4% market share.
Thor Industries Inc. 16.6% market share.

September 2017
Winnebago Industries Inc. 35.1% market share.
Erwin Hymer Group North America 30.1% market share.
Thor Industries Inc. 16.5% market share.

My guess is that these are YTD numbers even though September would be the end of the 3rd quarter but I don't know for sure (see rockymtnb's post here: http://www.classbforum.com/forums/f9...html#post64226 )

They have one of the two universally recognized brands. After Winnebago and Airstream, no other RV brands have their level of recognition with the general public. Thor will sell plenty simply based on the brand...

I agree, given that SSI indicates their numbers represent 'the first nine months of 2017' these do appear to be YTD totals. Moreover the individual month only figures (when available) generally vary more month-to-month, while the cumulative YTD shares stay relatively stable like these particularly later through the year.

Unfortunately SSI doesn't appear to have released any quarterly or individual monthly sales this time, even though this normally should be a quarterly summary. Overall a 29% YTD increase is great news for the Class B segment particularly since it follows previous years of similar growth. But from a manufacturer market share perspective it would be interesting to see those individual month figures.

Why is Thor included in the class B sales tabulation Does Thor build a Class B?

I get the WGO and RT stats but 16.8% for Airstream? If every every sixth or seventh class B on the road is an Airstream. I either need to get new glasses or quit driving.....or both.

I've said the same thing multiple times here. Very rarely see an Airstream Interstate. Went on a 5k mile trip a couple months ago. Never saw a one
