Retro fit upper berth sleeping accommodations in a New West van

Can anyone help me to add rooftop sleeping accommodation to my newly acquired 1999 New West Chevrolet Express van? Any bits of info appreciated.
Thanks.

How much do you want to spend?

Are you considering a roof-top tent? https://www.popularmechanics.com/adv...oof-top-tents/

I;m under the impression that New West offered a roof top bed that appeared to consist of 2 or 3 plywood panels. I've never actually seen a real one. to sure what to expect re; cost. If anyone has some pictures, I'd love to see them. I'd be interested in a do-it-yourself conversion if that was practical (and safe!).
Thanks for any input you might be able to add.
Sorry. Not interested in a rooftop tent.

Are you looking to build something like what we see in this picture (the plywood sheet)?

How about this?

Yes; very similar to this, but not so big. Based on a Chevy Express.

That's exactly what I'm looking for. Details on how this bed is made would be greatly appreciated.

Not so much!

Are you looking for someplace to install a pop top with a bed on your van or only a DIY?

Sportsmobile, GTRV, Colorado Camper Van, and probably more will install one...

I have 1999 New West without an upper bed. I'd like to put a homemade upper bed in it.

Need much more info. No mind readers here. How high is interior etc...?. How about a picture ? I once saw a New West van in the Redwoods . It had a stock Econoline roofline. No poptop . So of course people are just shooting blindly in the dark. But for those with a low roofline van here's a solution from Bigfoot rooftop tents .CjwKCAjw68zZBRAnEiwACw0eYXhP5QTCB4eaLB2RWBbSn68bv B9kLElzRt4i0DMA8jU8oENvnU-mEhoC9nAQAvD_BwE

The problem lies in the fact that few people seem to know what a New-West camper is, which is why I posted a link that shows one. In the 7th picture in the add, you see an inside shot where there's a (plywood?) bed like the one the OP wants to build. I think he simply wants to know how to build one that will be solid enough to be safe.
Here's the link again:

Hi, did you ever figured out a DIY upper bed for your New West? I am looking to do the same for mine. They sell them as an accessory at New-West in Quebec City. $415. Link below. Wondering if I could just cut myself a couple of pieces of 3/4 plywood.
