Re: BORN FREE MOTORHOMEs?

In my American Cruiser, my wife has to stand in the back while I stuff the table and post up in the cab area, pull the cushions off the couch and dinette, fold over the 2 hinged panels to span...

Re: BORN FREE MOTORHOMEs?

I'm following Shezonit's lead. I'm selling my 99 American Cruiser and buying a 97 Born Free class C. I'm retiring in May and have been checking Craigslist and RVT for a good deal on a B with the bed...

Re: Pizza lovers check this out

Davydd,
It would be a tough fit in a B, but here is a wood fired pizza oven a friend of mine built in his back yard. It works great. Its super insulated and holds the heat for hours. He fires it up...

Re: Post your MPG

This may not be the right topic for this but it spurred a thought. Ever since my wife convinced me to buy a used 09 Prius back in March (I have to admit, it is the best 'car' I've ever owned), I've...

Re: Peggy's Cove, not far from Halifax, Nova Scotia

As Stan said, Beautiful!

I have got to get my wife a passport. I'm retiring next May and in the heat of the summer, travel to Canada sounds more appealing than heading south.

Is that Peggy in...

Re: The hunt is over

Congratulations on a great find! I thought I got a good deal on my 99 American Cruiser for $8900 but $2000, Wow!.

In a 1992, the AC would use R-12 refrigerant which is now banned. They can be...

Re: Green Moss on RV.

I noticed a little green mildew on my American Cruiser around the back entry door. We always have a dispenser of Clorox Wipes in the van and they wiped it right off. If you have a lot of it, you...

Re: What is the best bed configuration in a Class B RV?

I posted "other". My choice is twin beds, one on each side of the coach that can be made into kings size if desired but with the clarification that the beds be in the rear of the van. My American...

I realize this was old (January) but I recently got the Camper Leveler app and read the calibration instructions on C-NET. https://download.cnet.com/Camper-Leveler ... 02716.html...

Re: How well does the Dodge Class B last?

We bought our 99 American Cruiser (on a 98 Dodge B3500 chassis) in June 2012 for $8900. The mileage recently exceeded 100,000 miles. While we have spent maybe $1200 on various upgrades to the coach,...

Re: Dumping Grey Water American Cruiser

I have a 99 American Cruiser and as with yours, it has a combined black/grey water tank. On ours, there is only one set of probes on the front side of the tank near the middle of the van. They are...

Re: 1st trip of the season

Took the "B" out of hibernation and made our first trip for 2014. The check valve blew out on the city water connection while I was flushing the system so I had to make a quick trip to Coastal RV in...

Re: Laminate flooring

Have you consider vinyl snap & click flooring. It looks just like laminate snap & click with out the worry of damage if it gets wet. I replaced the carpet in my "B" with vinyl snap & click flooring...

Re: Dodge Xplorer (which is best?)

Just looking at the pictures, and assuming both are in good mechanical condition, I'd go with the 85. They said no rust and the pictures of the underside (particularly the LP Tank) seem to support...

Re: To cover or not to cover that is the question

Its Thanksgiving day and I got around to installing the new cover on the camping trailer. If this one stands up well over the winter, I may get one for the B. Here's the review I posted on Amazon...

Re: 2014 Winnebago Travato

Reminds me of the fold-up berths on the old Maine Maritime Academy training ship (former troop transport USNS Upsur). I found out the hard way that they could be folded up with someone (me) in one.

Re: Traveling in a "B" with oxygen

Don't give up too easily. Gas bottles are carried in vehicles all the time. Oxygen is generally petty safe if you take reasonable precautions. I googled "oxygen bottle brackets" and found a wide...

Re: To cover or not to cover that is the question

I don't cover the B as I think the molded fiberglass is not prone to leakage and the 2 side windows and 2 roof vents fit well to it, i.e. no big gaps filled with caulk. I did just buy a cover...
