If its just the clutch on the compressor, you don't have to replace the compressor, just the clutch. As a rule, an automotive a/c compressor will outlive 2 clutches. As the clutch cycles on and off...

If the rig you are looking at is a 2005, you don't have the sparkplug thread problem, that was fixed years ago. I have a 2002 with the 5.4 engine and it just turned 112,000 miles. Still uses no oil...
