Re: Roadtrek Zion - Promaster based Class B Motorhome

When we walked through the Trend at the Mpls Rv show, it was nice inside, but it looked way to high and wide to be on single wheels in the rear. They may drive fine, we haven't driven one, but I...

Re: Roadtrek Zion - Promaster based Class B Motorhome

That is really a bummer :(

It had appeared that Roadtrek was getting most of their past quality issues behind them, but maybe not.

Lake Regions has gotten in one of the 3 they had on order

The told us at the show that the ones they were getting...

Re: Roadtrek Zion - Promaster based Class B Motorhome

When we were looking in 2006/07 timeframe, a Sportsmobile with all the features of a well optioned 190P Roadtrek was about the same cost as the Roadtrek. When you started eliminating and simplifying...

Re: Roadtrek Zion - Promaster based Class B Motorhome

Have you looked at Sportsmobile? They may not have the spiff factor, but they will build you just what you want (within reason).

Re: Roadtrek Zion - Promaster based Class B Motorhome

Hopefully, they will do it a little different than some of the other models that have the power sofa supports placed in a way that they block the storage area inconveniently. Some other brands move...

Re: Roadtrek Zion - Promaster based Class B Motorhome

The only reason we think the across the back will be available was from a comment at the the Minneapolis RV show by a salesman from Lake Region RV. He said they had 3 Zions on order and they would...

Re: Roadtrek Zion - Promaster based Class B Motorhome

Did the one at Fretz have the side couches in the back or the across the back one? Lake Region told us their were going to be across the back, but aren't here yet. I don't recall anyone actually...

Re: Roadtrek Zion - Promaster based Class B Motorhome

without the inverter the 'engine generator' would just be an extra dc amp provider charging batteries.
Yep--exactly true, but the Onan would be just a source of AC power without the shore...

Re: Roadtrek Zion - Promaster based Class B Motorhome

Nearly all the factory service manuals I have seen call the stock factory alternator a generator. An alternator is a style of generator, and a generator is not necessarily an alternator.
That most certainly could be true! Of course, the first time the pump fails, they will be converts

Re: Roadtrek Zion - Promaster based Class B Motorhome

They sure have been going to less and less counter space lately, I would agree. In our 07 Roadtrek, they turn the stove 90* and put it up against the right side wall, and put the sink right up next...

Re: Roadtrek Zion - Promaster based Class B Motorhome

Lake Regions RV says they have 3 on order, and at the show they said they were getting them with rear sofa, not the open aisle, but they aren't received yet.

That is where I noticed the wrong...

Re: Roadtrek Zion - Promaster based Class B Motorhome

It appears that Roadtrek has another misprint in the Zion specs that also make it look more favorable than it is. They list the gas V6 as 280hp and 360ft-lb of torque. It should be 260ft-lb of...

Re: Roadtrek Zion - Promaster based Class B Motorhome

Very interesting, as we are learning to live with an tankless at home. Probably the wave of the future, although you may use more water due to the initiation time of the unit before you get actual...

Re: Roadtrek Zion - Promaster based Class B Motorhome

For us, the 10 gallons is fine, but more would always be better! We have removed one of the fresh tanks, so we only carry 14 gallons, but find water very easy to find, if we had more black capacity...

Re: Roadtrek Zion - Promaster based Class B Motorhome

That sounds too big to be a change this late. I wonder if the original spec was typo, with an added "1".

Re: Roadtrek Zion - Promaster based Class B Motorhome

That would have to be a different Tripplite than most Roadtreks got, as those were only 750 watts. Roadtrek only ran a couple of outlets off them. I think Campskunk mentioned a different inverter,...

Re: Roadtrek Zion - Promaster based Class B Motorhome

I think you may have hit it right on the head with this. Legit, but not desirable  145 amp alternator, 220AH of battery, good advertising of features. Connected with 4 ga wire and 80 amp...

Re: Roadtrek Zion - Promaster based Class B Motorhome

I think most of the manufacturers are behind in the alternator to coach wiring. I have never seen any Roadtrek (can't say about the proprietary ones) that had a factory disconnect or battery...

Re: Roadtrek Zion - Promaster based Class B Motorhome

My guess would be that the engine generator would be overkill to have the engine generator, with the only exception being if the factory 220 amp unit was either really low amp at idle or dropped a...

Re: Roadtrek Zion - Promaster based Class B Motorhome

There is another thing to look at in the advertising and literature. You often hear of very high acceptable charging rates for various, but not all, AGMs. The thing is that in most situations, the...

Re: Roadtrek Zion - Promaster based Class B Motorhome

Both the reserve capacity and 1,5,20,100 hour ratings are measuring how much power the battery will deliver under a certain set of circumstances, so there really is only a difference of the point...
